FAR Australia welcomes new appointment to Board
Australian based field applied researcher, developer and extension provider announces the appointment of Greg Fraser to its board of directors effective Friday 28th October 2022.
Mr Fraser was CEO of Plant Health Australia from 2008 to 2020. He has also been Chair of the Plant Biosecurity Research Initiative since July 2018 and is a Graduate and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mr Fraser brings experience in stakeholder engagement from PHA, whose members are all levels of Government and industry bodies. He and his family own a 200 hectare grazing farm, with some irrigation, at Wee Jasper, north of Canberra.
Mr Fraser was also influential in working alongside Citrus Australia’s CEO Nathan Hancock and other stakeholders in the development of the citrus canker response in the NT and northern WA.
Andrew Rice, FAR Australia’s board chairman said he is delighted to have Greg join FAR Australia’s board of directors.
“Greg brings a wealth of knowledge of Australian agriculture and governance skills which will be a great asset for our organisation,” said Mr Rice.
“Greg’s passion and enthusiasm to grow and protect the long-term wellbeing of Australian agricultural industries will be valued. His diverse range of skills and extensive business experience will assist us in delivering on our goals and making informed decisions in the best interest of Australian agriculture. The board and I are thoroughly looking forward to working with him.”
Mr Fraser was appointed to the FAR Australia board to fill the director’s position that was vacated by Sara Hely in September.
