Seeing is believing – unveiling the potential of hyper yielding crops

WA sets the scene as Australian based field applied researcher, developer and extension provider kicks off its 2023 national programme of the GRDC’s Hyper Yielding Crops (HYC) field days.

When?       Tuesday 19th September 2023 10am to 4.30pm

Where?      HYC Canola research site, Kojonup (10am) and HYC Cereals research site, Frankland River (12.30pm).

FAR Australia invites grain growers, researchers and industry professionals to attend its national programme of HYC field days which are set to showcase the latest advancements in hyper yielding crops cultivation, and what we can do to achieve maximum yield potential in the higher rainfall zones.

The first in this series of national Hyper Yielding Crops Field Days is set to take place on Tuesday 19th September at FAR Australia’s WA Crop Technology Centre located in Frankland River, promising a day of insights, new findings, and networking opportunities.

Guest speaker is Thailand based Dr Frank van den Bosch who will share his expertise on fungicide efficacy and resistance management. Frank is currently an associate professor at Curtin University where he helps develop resistance management methods for net-blotch in barley. Frank is also a consultant at RSK-ADAS in the UK adding expertise around fungicide efficacy and resistance management.

Successes in canola and cereal cropping across the HRZ of WA, and where future gains might come from.

Trial tours
Experience guided ‘seeing in believing’ tours of HYC plots, allowing attendees to see firsthand the impact of new germplasm and innovative practices on crop performance.

Participate in interactive presentations designed to empower attendees with practical knowledge to enhance their own management practices.

Networking opportunities
