FAR Australia Announces New Capacity and Growth in Western Australia
FAR Australia is excited to announce the appointment of Kate Trezise and Sophie Paul building greater capacity in Western Australia, reinforcing our commitment to advancing agricultural research and extension.
These key appointments signify FAR Australia’s ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging graduates in the field of agronomy and advancing agricultural innovation in the region, but also its commitment to building national independent capacity and capability in RD&E in the Australian grains sector.
As part of this expansion, we are thrilled to welcome Kate Trezise to the Frankland River region and Sophie Paul to the Esperance region of Western Australia.
Kate Trezise has a strong background in agriculture and a keen interest in scientific research, already making significant strides in her career. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Life Sciences from the University of Western Australia, with a focus on biochemistry and genetics. Her academic excellence led her to work with Dr. Michael Considine’s team, where she conducted research on plant shoot branching and presented her findings at the International Plant Dormancy Conference.
Sophie Paul is a dedicated and experienced agricultural professional who joins FAR Australia with a strong background in both practical on farm experience and a passion for research. She holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honors from Lincoln University, where she conducted independent research on farmers’ commercial flock ewe culling decisions and their impact on production and profitability. Sophie has developed expertise spanning advanced soil management, machinery operation, seeding, harvesting, and livestock management.
These appointments under pin FAR Australia’s dedication to fostering young talent and driving forward our mission of building independent RD&E for the betterment of Australian board acre.
